Because I am forever fixing something on my Rig I thought this would be a good place to archive “How to” videos that I can use for my own reference and easily find again and also share with other people that may have encountered similar problems.

Caution: I find a lot of Youtube “Experts” really do not know what they are doing. So it’s best to do some of your own research, watch a few videos on each subject to see if people are making the repair in a similar fashion and make note of the tools and parts you will need BEFORE you decide to take on the repair challenge. And SAFETY should be the first thing you think about when dealing with heights, tools, propane, or electric. Do not get ahead of yourself. The best “Tip” I can give is to purchase some high quality nitrile gloves before you start any project and USE THEM! And of course TURN OFF THE POWER or GAS.

So my rig’s AC (Which Installed less than 2 years ago is smelling like “Sweat Socks”). After a little research I am understanding that the smell comes from bacteria on the cooling coils in the AC Unit. Time to clean them!

Here is a pretty good video as well. TURN OFF POWER BEFORE WORKING ON ANY AC UNIT!

RV Refrigerator Repair & Troubleshooting Guide (This Guy gets to the Point)

I would watch this video 1st – and I did! – (Then dig deeper if needed). RV refrigerators can be very expensive. If you have the room and can secure a non-RV refrigerator you may save a lot of money overall if your’s needs to be replaced. The downside is it can be really difficult getting a home refrigerator into most RV’s because of the door size. It can also be quite hard to safely mount and you need to consider if you will be boondocking when the value of Propane really shines. In my own experience troubleshooting a refrigerator that is now working properly can be difficult.

This video is in depth and quite good, but a bit long as an RV Tech walks you through Dometic Fridge Troubleshooting.
