This review is based on our own experience with the product and details the benefits, and cautions people to be careful when spraying and to avoid making direct skin contact. On we go...
When it comes to rust repair; we know of only one product that we've used that works - really works. The one product that we absolutely must rave about is called Por-15! Nothing we have ever tried before Por-15 even came close. And the great part is for most rusted metals don't even require much preparation. You just paint right over the top of he rusted metal. Do NOT under any circumstances spray this stuff without the correct respiration gear.
Por-15 is the single most effective rust repair ever invented and scary evil (You get this stuff on yourself and you CAN NOT wash it off!). From our own personal experience: I got it all over my arms and it took almost a month and a half to wear off! That's right WEAR OFF! You are going to have to take my word for it, I tried everything - solvent, nail polish remover, every kind of soap including GoJo, and other Orange and Lemon Cleaners.
DO NOT GET THIS ON YOUR SKIN OR YOU WILL BE SORRY! If by chance you do get this on yourself the only trick that kind of helped was to take tape with very good adhesive (actually bandaid strips were the best), and press the tape against the area covered. Next you rip off the adhesive strips as quickly as possible. Some of the chemical will peel off with the strip. Good luck, and don't tell us you haven't been warned! ALWAYS WEAR PROTECTIVE CLOTHING INCLUDING GLOVES, RESPIRATION, AND EYE PROTECTION!
Tip: If you get Por-15 just on your hands you can wear rubber gloves until you start to really sweat and this will help lift the Por-15 off your skin. Sweating really seems to help loosen the product from the skin. This stuff is not like Rustoleum (And that's a good thing). Rustoleum spray paint works for awhile, but breaks down over time in my experience. I have had Por-15 painted over rusted parts under my van that still looks the same as when I first applied it now 12 years ago! These parts are not exposed to direct sunlight (Keep that in mind).
